LOOK, MAMMOTHS!!! READ MY "10,000 B.C." MOVIE REVIEW!!! 


Director Roland Emmerich has father issues. In most of his films, the son is traditionally rebellious, a non-conforming character who almost always disobeys his father, only to learn that poppa knows best.

Emmerich has explored this father-son paradigm in “The Patriot,” where Heath Ledger’s character gave his father (played by Mel Gibson) unnecessary grief, and in “The Day After Tomorrow” where dad Dennis Quaid must travel hundreds of miles on foot to rescue his stubborn son (Jake Gyllenhaal).

In the new film “10,000 B.C.,” Emmerich traveled way back to reach the day before tomorrow, but his father complex is still intact. Only this time, it’s the son who’s doing much of the walking.
