Remember the 1974 "Death Wish" movie starring a vengeful Charles Bronson? Yes? Well, if director Joe Carnahan will get his wish, his version is NOT a remake, y'all. So stop calling it a remake, pronto!
Apparently, Carnahan, who I admire (check out my interview with the director for "The Grey" right here), wants to base this movie on the Brian Garfield 1972 novel. Fair enough!
So, Carnahan tweeted: Guys, for the record and so I don't have to answer this question a billion goddamn times. 'DEATH WISH' is NOT a remake. At all, in ANY way.
Okay, Mister Joe, we hear ya, it's not a remake. At least until we see the film then we can compare and contrast.
