Twentieth Century Fox is turning classic literary on us! First, the news that they're saving "The Chronicles of Narnia" franchise by agreeing to make the third film, "Voyage of the Dawn Treader."
Now, the studio is making a reimagining of the classic Jonathan Swift novel, "Gulliver's Travels" starring Jack Black.
All together now...HUH?
Jack Black in "Gulliver's Travels?" Why, and what role is he playing?
According to Variety:
Black was set late last year to play Lemuel Gulliver, a travel writer who takes an assignment to the Bermuda Triangle and washes up on the island of Lilliput, where he's a giant among the tiny population.
Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada") is in talks to play a Lilliputian princess, while Jason Segel ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall") may play Horatio, Gulliver's best friend from Lilliput who helps rescue Gulliver.
Oh yeah, and incidentally, it's official! Blunt had been offered the role of Black Widow in "Iron Man 2."
She'll play the Russian superspy named Natasha Romanoff and her alter-ego, Black Widow.
The biggest problem the actress is facing right now is trying to fit both films in her very busy schedule!
Meanwhile, the super-sweet Jason Segel is reteaming with his "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" director Nicholas Stoller who co-wrote "Gulliver's Travels" with Joe Stillman.
Hhhmmmmm, I'm seeing this very clearly now. They're turning "Gulliver" into a quasi-comedy involving a giant and his little peeps. That may be funny, specially with this pedigree!

As we reported back in November, "Kung Fu Panda" co-director John Stevenson was set to helm the live-action version of "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe."
Well now, it's official!
Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver are moving full steam ahead for the fantasy-adventure film!
The first draft of the script was written by Justin Marks based on a story he developed with Neil Ellice.
Toy-branded film properties are hot right now! The new "Transformers" film called "Revenge of the Fallen" opens in June 26, and "G.I. Joe" is set to debut in theaters Aug. 7.
Both toy-franchises, like "He-Man" began as toys! Don't lie, you had one, or maybe all 3 of these toys. What will be the next toy-based film? Hhhhmmm, "Barbie?"
And do you guys remember the 1987 campy film starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, and the great Frank Langela as Skeletor?
If you haven't seen it, go rent it! It's good for a few unintentional laughs here and there!

Sylvester Stallone is determined to bring back his glory days!
Extra is reporting that the actor is mulling the possibility of yet another "Rambo" movie. This one will be the fifth of the series!
Stallone told Extra:
"Yeah, we are doing another 'Rambo,' but the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country."
He then went on to praise 2008's comeback kid, Mickey Rourke, to say he's so proud of him. Rourke credited Stallone for helping him with his career.
So Stallone gave a shout-out to our favorite "Wrestler" and said:
"Mickey, if anybody deserves an Oscar, it's you. No question about it. You lived it. You earned it. You deserve it. You're an incredibly talented man. It's about time everyone says, 'You know what. Give it to the winner.'"
Aw...what a great Bro-mance!

I sat down with the actor/musician for the upcoming romantic comedy "New in Town" starring Renee Zelwegger.
He's a very sweet man, calm, cool, collected.
We talked about making the film, his character, Ted Mitchell, working with Renee, and shooting the film in deep, freezing cold!
Here you go, and have fun always!
