Shiver Me Timbers! "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" Movie Review! How Many Kisses Does Johnny Depp Get?
Batten down the hatches and man the sails, the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie is upon us! Johnny Depp gets new co-stars, the characters have a new quest, but the fourth franchise is really more of the same.
By now, we are familiar with the “Pirates” formula. Open each movie with a grandiose beginning, give Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) a dramatic entrance, and then watch the film fizzle out near the end.
While “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” adapts the tried and true formula, at least the fourth film is able to capture some of the fun and playful spirit of the first film, “The Curse of the Black Pearl.” Read More...

Last month, we told you that "The Social Network's" Armie Hammer, the face of the Winklevoss Twins, was in early talks to star opposite Johnny Depp in the planned big screen version of "The Lone Ranger." (Goodbye Ryan Gosling, Hello Armie Hammer? "Social Network" Star in Talks to Join Johnny Depp in "Lone Ranger")
Now, Variety is confirming that the actor is in final negotiations to play the titular role of the Lone Ranger! Depp has been attached to the project as the sidekick, Tonto, and Gore Verbinski is still set to helm. The director previously worked with Depp in "Rango" and the first three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. The script is written by "Revolutionary Road's" Justin Haythe.
But first, Depp will finish shooting Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" project which is due for release May 11th of next year. Meanwhile, Hammer will star opposite Julia Roberts in "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White" and Clint Eastwood's "Hoover."

So "Scream 4" tanked at the box-office but executive producer Harvey Weinstein told MTV News that the series has more stabbings to do! (Emma Roberts Talks About "Scream 4")
Talking at the Cannes Film Festival, Weinstein was pretty sure that director Wes Craven is going to do a sequel, and as far as money is concerned, "Scream 4" is supposed to be doing quite well overseas.
"Foreign [sales] are so strong that we'll do over $100 million worldwide," said Weinstein. "It's at $90 now, with about five or six major countries to go and a lot of small ones. We'll probably do $110 million."
That's the spirit Harvey!

Focus. Action. Skill. Strategy. Tactics.
I have no idea why Phillip Noyce, the director of such films as 1992's "Patriot Games" and most recently, "Salt," is interested in rebooting the 1988 Jean Claude Van Damme martial arts flick "Bloodsport." But according to Screen Daily, veteran producer Ed Pressman ("Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps") has closed deals with Noyce to direct and Robert Mark Kamen to write the script.
Kamen, whose previous screenwriting credits include "Taken," "The Transporter," and um, "A Walk in the Clouds," is giving the reboot a modern backstory. This time, our hero, an American, goes to Brazil to chill from the violence he has experienced in Afghanistan, only to face a whole new kind of violence -- a martial arts contest.
The original film, loosely based on the life of martial arts artist Frank Dux (Van Damme), told the tale of the first ever Westerner to eve win the Kumite -- an illegal and dangerous tournament. Of course, Van Damme aka Dux was able to develop his own fighting style by infusing Focus, Action, Skill, Strategy, Tactics. The End.
Pressman is currently shopping the project around in Cannes. Will Van Damme make a cameo? Stay tuned. For now, let's watch the original "Bloodsport" trailer and relive the glory days of the 80s!
