"Star Trek" Plot Revealed!!!

The writers of the upcoming "Star Trek" reboot, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman ("Transformers"), have been talking about the film's plot!

The duo was spotted talking it up in the Fox Movie Channel show, Life After Film School.

According to our friends at Chud, who saw the pair's appearance:

The movie begins in the Star Trek present - some time in the The Next Generation timeline. Romulans head back in time, either to kill Kirk or his father (or both, just to be safe. This is known as "The Terminator Gambit") and Spock follows them into the past, back when the Enterprise crew were young. These events change the history of the Trek universe, either creating a parallel timeline that the films will now follow or simply overwriting everything else that we know as Trek history.

Wow, it's very "Terminator-ish," but it's a bit clever. Director J.J. Abrams will have a fun time connecting the past with the present and onward to the future. Exciting! :4k

Director Brett Ratner is Strumming "Guitar Hero" Movie!!!

Say what you want about Brett Ratner, but at least, that dude is consistent! And he keeps himself busy.

Currently, he's in talks to direct "God of War" and a possible "Beverly Hills Cop 4" movie. Now, Ratner is saying he wants to strum a "Guitar Hero" movie!

But he doesn't think Activision, the videogame's parent company, would want him to.

MTV News caught up with Ratner, and the director said:

“I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie, if Activision would ever let me. I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie. ”

So what's his big idea for a plot? Read More...

Are You Tired of Movie Logos?

You know the drill. You sit down, armed with buttery popcorn, and you're assaulted with mega trailers first (don't get me wrong, I love watching trailers, sometimes, it's the best part of your movie-watching experience), then fade to black.

You see the familiar studio logo.

You think the movie is about to begin.

But wait...there's more!

And more.

And more!

By the time the movie finally begins, you've sat through watching 6 or 8 or 10 movie studio logos!

What gives?

There's a great article here examining our current "movie logo" culture. Read, and weep, until the next time you're in your favorite multiplex only to experience movie-logo watching over and over and over again. :happy

John Lennon -- The Movie!!!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the John Lennon biopic is coming together nicely, thank you very much!

From the production company that brought us "Becoming Jane" and "Brideshead Revisited," comes "Nowhere Boy," a film that will focus on the Beatle's childhood and subsequent journey to icon status.

Filming of the script written by "Control's" Matt Greenhalgh is set to take place on location in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool.

It's kind of interesting that the filmmakers will take a closer look at Lennon's relationship with the women in his life. They are saying that "The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became."

Prepare for some Yoko Ono sighting!
