DreamWorks Animation and Paramount have announced that they're moving the opening of "Puss in Boots" one week earlier from Nov. 4 to Oct. 28th! Yay!
We all fell in love with the character from the "Shrek" movies, and this is probably the most beloved character that Antonio Banderas has ever played, well, this one, voiced.
I think this is a good move for DreamWorks/Paramount because it gives them advantage of attracting the family crowd before the onslaught of films made for kids arrive a week later leading to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Here's more info on "Puss in Boots" from DreamWorks/Paramount:

It's Cool to Say Redrum Again! Stephen King Reveals "The Shining" Sequel! Watch Video of the Author Reading Excerpt!
I was thrilled to hear that Stephen King is planning a sequel to his classic "The Shining." And you know, there is no planned publication date yet, but I'm sure Hollywood is salivating to get its hands on the sequel.
The original 1980 film based on the 1977 King novel, is regarded as one of the scariest films ever made! And I definitely agree. The marriage of King's material and director Stanley Kubrick's assured hands plus Jack Nicholson's demented dad performance gave us one of the best horror movies that still holds up to this day.
And then there's Danny Lloyd as the young clairvoyant Danny Torrance, and Scatman Crothers as the trusty Dick Halloran, and the terrific Shelly Duvall as the wife-in-distress, Wendy. And who can forget the hallway of that spooky hotel? Or the squeaky Big Wheel? Or the identical twin girls? And the list goes on and on and on.
King, speaking at George Mason University last week (check the video below after the jump), revealed that he's working on the sequel, and this one's going to be called "Doctor Sleep." It will tell the tale of Danny, now all grown up and working as a hospice worker. He's just not any old hospice worker though, his special powers help his suffering patients die without pain. And yikes, there are vampires in this movie! Vampires? Really? Let's leave it to the horror king to figure it all out! Just don't give us a "Twilight" kind of back story. We're looking for more of "The Salem's Lot" vampire variety. Please?
I've always been a fan of King, I read all of his books, yes I do! And he's having some sort of a career resurgence as of late. "Bag of Bones" is headed to TV, and "Under the Dome" is being developed for Showtime with no other than Steven Spielberg and his DreamWorks TV banner.
So while many entertainment folks are trying to figure out who should star in the sequel, us, movie buffs, should wonder -- who should direct "Doctor Sleep?" Because after all, there's only one Kubrick, but maybe, just maybe, someone will be able to give this justice.
Here's King reading excerpt of "Doctor Sleep" at George Mason University:

“Tucker & Dale VS. Evil” is a surprisingly original horror comedy that will rival most major studio releases. With no big-name stars or huge budget, the film is on its way to becoming a cult classic.
Deconstructing the slasher genre, “Tucker & Dale VS. Evil” is about two best friends mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies. What follows next is a gory comedy of errors that has a great big heart. Read More...

I Hate to Say It But I Told You So! Anne Hathaway's Feral, Ear-licious Catwoman Outfit and Other "Dark Knight Rises" Tales!
So about a month ago, I defended Anne Hathaway's Catwoman outfit for "The Dark Knight Rises," by saying, stop whining, her costume has a purpose!
And voila! It really has a purpose! And Hathaway looks hot in it! (Check out my interview with the actress for "One Day" where we talked briefly about her costume, she did give me a clawing gesture though)
Now, we can see those pointy cat ears that many fans were decrying for its supposed absence! I'm not going to repeat how I found out, but all I could say was...I TOLD YOU SO!
Christopher Nolan is one of the best contemporary directors working today, so do not, ever doubt him again!
Also in "The Dark Knight Rises" news, the giant orb of villain Bane (Tom Hardy currently starring in "Warrior" which you all should see right now!) is in full display! Click here to see the close-up pictures. And check the video below:
I thought "The Dark Knight" was among the best movies of the past decade, and so I'm looking forward to seeing the threequel for the complete trilogy! "The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters July 2012 also starring Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.
