I’ve always believed that Michael Pena is a great character actor since watching him in 2004’s “Crash.” Since then, the actor’s star continues to shine, turning in memorable performances in “World Trade Center” and “The Lincoln Lawyer.” In “End of Watch,” he plays Jake Gyllenhaal’s partner. This film is riveting! One of the best films of 2012! In this interview, we talked about:
*** His interest in making “End of Watch”
*** What he did when he failed his audition to be in the movie
*** How he found his character
*** Working with Jake Gyllenhaal and creating a palpable chemistry with him
*** What it means to be a hero?
Have fun!

This is my umpteenth time meeting Miss Anna Kendrick! She’s always sweet in person, and always a scene stealer! In the film, she plays the love interest of the character played by Jake Gyllenhaal. And Natalie Martinez has grown up to become a confident actress since I first interviewed her for “Death Race.” Remember that film? No? You will definitely remember Martinez in “End of Watch” as Michael Pena’s character’s wife. In this interview, we talked about:
*** What attracted them in making “End of Watch”
*** The script, the way it was shot
*** Anna Kendrick’s sex scene with Jake Gyllenhaal
*** Natalie Martinez’s confidence as an actress
*** And finally, what the heck is a gooch? Texas Twister? Find out in the movie!

So, I was blessed for being invited at the Toronto International Film Festival, and I was doubly blessed for being able to see one of the best films of the year, “End of Watch.” David Ayer, the guy who wrote “Training Day,” wrote and directed this fantastic film! In this interview, we talked about:
*** What made him want to go back to the LAPD world?
*** He ate all the words he said about corrupt cops being an interesting tool in doing a cop movie.
*** The camera technique he used for “End of Watch”
*** The palpable chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena – they didn’t’ like each other at first!
Have fun!
